Eucharistic Ministry gives the Precious Body and Blood of Christ to our Congregation during our Sunday Mass Services here at St. James.
We have several training classes held throughout the year where we train our , first time ministers. This is a 1.5 hour training session.
We perform our duties with reverence, humility and a true sense of service as we welcome all communicants to the Table of the Lord.
We do have specific requirements, but if you are interested in joining this truly worthwhile ministry, we encourage you to give us a call.

“To sing is to pray twice.” — St.Augustine
Our philosophy in the St. James Music Ministry is to support the liturgy through singing and playing instruments with a servant’s spirit. We lift up our voices to God in thanksgiving and we invite you to participate with us.
Our Adult Choir sings at the 10 AM Mass.
Resounding Grace is our contemporary adult ensemble, which celebrates during the 12 noon Sunday Mass
Sunday night’s 5:30 Mass is our Youth and Teen choir ensembles.
Our Saturday Vigil Mass and Sunday 8 AM Masses are celebrated with a cantor soloist and piano/organ accompanist.

The sacristy group ministry ensures that the vestments, church furnishings, liturgical vessels and decorative objects are kept in good condition and, if necessary, sent for gilding or repair. Our dedicated sacristy group ministry are always happy to assist any priest to make sure that everyone experiences the mystical presence of Christ.
Our preparations for the Mass contribute to the atmosphere of prayer, both for servers and congregation. We are entrusted with the care of the holy vessels during the Mass, where Jesus becomes present. We also assist the priest, and help with funerals, baptisms and weddings.

Each of us is called to our faith in different ways just as each of us is called to give to our parishes in different ministries. The lector ministry calls to those passionate about the proclamation of the Word.
When we bring the living Word of God to the assembly, we should do it in hope of helping our fellow parishioners experience the proclaimed Word as a powerful prayer and celebration. To do this, our lector ministers should be skilled at public speaking, have knowledge of the principles of liturgy, and understand and love the scriptures.

“The altar server has a privileged place in liturgical celebrations. Those who serve at Mass present themselves to a community. They experience from close at hand that Jesus Christ is present and active in every liturgy . . . In the liturgy you are far more than mere “helpers of the parish priest”. Above all, you are servants of Jesus Christ, the eternal High Priest.”

There are nine ladies in the Parish who volunteer once a month to wash the daily Mass linens. These include the purificators, corporals and hand towels.
Each volunteer is assigned one Friday or one Monday each month to pick up the items; wash and iron and return them as soon as possible.
Occasionally a vacation is planned so a substitute is needed.

There are three sub-ministries involved in making certain that each funeral is dealt with in a sensitive, organized and meaningful way
– the funeral ministers whose members work with the bereaved families to plan an appropriate liturgy,
– the hospitality ministry which sets up receptions in the hall following the funeral Mass, if desired by the family, and
– the funeral sacristans, who prepare the church and the altar for the funeral or memorial Mass, and who assist in numerous ways to help the funeral go forward in a smooth manner.
All volunteers in these ministries must be Virtus trained.
